Marianna Mezhibovskaya
Marianna is an experiential designer from Brooklyn, NY. She has a mission to create collaborative and interactive experiences around social justice. Human-centered design, cross-disciplinary research, and joyful interventions are my means of empowering disenfranchised and underserved communities. I've created empathic design proposals promoting positive body image through an interactive fair; connecting people living on minimum wage to resources and community via a public radio station; and a public interaction that combatted obesity through social dancing. My Master's thesis, Outsiders: Designing Engagement with the Incarcerated, focused on fostering compassion and shifting negative public perception through designed workshops, systems maps, physical products, services, apps, and an interactive exhibition that invited the public to communicate with the currently incarcerated.
