Creative Director

Scott’s always thinking about what’s next. He followed the river down from St. Louis last year to join the Loyola Design team, where he teaches Typography, Junior Studio and Senior Capstone. He brings a wealth of knowledge from the professional side, working for agencies and running his own studio for decades. When Scott’s not creatively directing in The Collective, you might find him digging through the recycling bin for colorful pages to overprint on, checking out estate sales in the city with more hidden memorabilia than you might imagine, or rooting for his newfound teams the Saints and Pelicans.

Art Director

Aleigha Thompson is a graphic/motion designer from Austin, TX. She is passionate about motion design and branding (the cause of her laptop crashes.) Recently, she has been spreading her love for the Loyola Design program as Art Director for The Collective and as the VP of @loyno.dsgn. She has recently (not by choice) been playing fantasy football. Go Saints!

Assistant Art Director

Kristen Goodly was born and raised in Lake Charles, LA. She is always excited to learn new techniques as her love for design evolves. As the Assistant Art Director for the Collective, Kristen draws inspiration from things both old and new. When she isn’t designing (or sometimes when she is) you can find her listening to music and watching movies!

Senior Justin Lee is a passionate graphic designer from Shreveport, LA. With a strong focus on illustrative design, he is dedicated to bringing creativity to life through his work. Recently, he has been delving into political design, and he is excited to explore this area further in his final year of college.

Junior Mimi Ryall is from beautiful Little Rock, Arkansas. She has a passion for creativity that extends beyond digital design. Alongside her graphic work, she enjoys sewing, ceramics, and collage, blending hands-on crafts with her design skills to create visuals. Mimi's artistic approach is rooted in her love for exploring different textures and forms. Her inspiration comes from her community, surroundings, and the natural world.

Junior Fredo Shaw was born in Houston, TX (where he learned how to tie his shoes for the first time.) His love for design began slightly before the pandemic, making miniature profile pictures for his friends. This pushed him further towards his passion of being a multi-disciplinary graphic designer. Fredo has a strong belief in making ideas come to life to change the world!

Creative Director

Cali is a passionate graphic designer and educator from New Orleans, LA. She has a BFA in graphic design from Loyola University New Orleans where she currently serves as an adjunct professor and creative director of The Collective. In addition to her roles at the university, Cali is the lead designer at Current Affairs, a nonprofit independent left media outlet and print magazine.

Art Director

Joseph enjoys logo design, environmental design, and photography. In his free time he works as a studio manager at a ceramic tile production studio.

Art Director

Ella loves exploring bright and bold colors in branding, social media, and interactive design. She’s from Lafayette, Louisiana - not too far away from New Orleans! Outside of The Collective, you can catch her creating social media graphics for Wolf Pack Athletics and is now an alumnus of Loyola’s swim team!

Assistant Art Director

Aleigha is from Austin, Texas. While studying graphic design, she found a passion for motion design and animation and is currently a motion design TA at Loyola. She currently works as a designer for the Loyola Student-run design firm, The Collective, and was recently promoted to Assistant Art Director.

Designer

Kristen is from Lake Charles, LA. She loves to work on projects that focus on the arts, but she is always open to any project that comes her way. If she is not doing graphic design, you'll find her either listening to music or watching movies!

Malu is from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Her upbringing in Puerto Rico's vibrant landscapes and diverse cultural environment fostered an early interest in art and design. Her desire to be creative drove her to get a graphic design degree.

Madison is a New Orleans native and is excited to start her first semester working at The Collective with real life clients! In her spare time she enjoys listening to music and spending time at the park.

Designer

Kiya is from Washington, DC and became an artist just as soon as she could walk and talk. She fell in love with graphic design in high school, and currently specializes in projects involving cover art, poster design and branding. She also loves photography and illustration. Hi! I’m Gabi and this is my first year in The Collective :) I’m from Barquisimeto, Venezuela. I love to try new things and make fun designs, especially motion and AR. You can usually catch me in the UX room either working on something or taking a nap.

Back for my last year! I’m Jada, and I love art and design, so much that you can always catch me trying something new at least once, and I’m hoping to learn more each day. I’m from Houston, TX and I also love to make charcoal and ink drawings in my spare time!

Hi everyone! I’m Molli and this is my first year at the collective! I’m from Dallas, Texas. Some things I like to do when I’m not designing are painting, doing yoga and going to concerts! I’m looking forward to getting to work in the collective and can't wait for this year!

Hi everyone! My name is Emma and this is my first year in The Collective! I’m from Roanoke, Virginia. I really love creating social media content, photography, and art history. I also love to travel, paint, and shop when I’m not designing. I’m super excited for this year!

Hey y’all! I’m Mya and this is my second semester in The Collective :) I’m from Ponchatoula, LA. I’m really into illustration and creating poster designs. I have a background in studio art, so you will sometimes see me include my drawings in some of my projects. So happy to work for The Collective again!

I’m Greer and I’m excited to be back at The Collective for a second semester! It has given me an opportunity to try my hand at a variety of things, and I’m looking forward to more exploration. When I’m not designing, you can usually find me keeping up my personal art practice or writing very dumb jokes that will likely never see the light of day.
